Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lead HVAC Installer will be responsible for: Leading residential HVAC replacements and installations from start to completion Installing split-system heat pumps, package units, air handlers, furnaces and related HVAC equipment Reviewing the job scope and equipment before beginning installation Properly positioning and setting indoor and outdoor equipment Installing and brazing refrigerant piping Flowing nitrogen while brazing when required Pressure testing completed refrigerant systems Performing proper evacuation and verifying system vacuum Installing condensate drains and required safety devices Installing thermostats and low-voltage controls Completing electrical connections within the HVAC installer's scope Installing or modifying duct transitions, plenums and related ductwork Verifying proper airflow Performing complete system startup and commissioning Verifying heating and cooling operation Identifying installation problems and determining appropriate field solutions Leading and directing B-Level installers and helpers Maintaining tools, equipment and company property Keeping installation areas clean and organized Protecting customers' homes and property Communicating professionally with customers Completing installation documentation and job notes Taking required jobsite and completed-installation photographs Following manufacturer specifications, company installation standards and applicable codes Reducing preventable callbacks through proper installation and commissioning
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have: Strong residential HVAC installation experience Demonstrated ability to independently complete residential HVAC system replacements Working knowledge of heat pumps, split systems, package systems, air handlers and furnaces Strong understanding of refrigeration piping and brazing practices Ability to pressure test, evacuate and commission HVAC systems Understanding of residential HVAC electrical and low-voltage controls Ability to read equipment specifications and installation instructions Ability to troubleshoot installation-related problems Ability to lead an installation crew Valid driver's license Acceptable driving record Reliable transportation to work Professional appearance and communication skills Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces and outdoor environments Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of HVAC installation work Dependability and strong attendance EPA Section 608 certification is strongly preferred. Relevant manufacturer training, NATE certification, trade-school education and additional HVAC certifications are a plus. Employment may be contingent upon successfully completing required background and drug screening.

Pay:
$26.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Are you experienced brazing refrigerant lines? Can you independently pressure test and evacuate a newly installed HVAC system? Do you have experience using a micron gauge during system evacuation? Can you perform electrical and low-voltage connections associated with a residential HVAC installation? Can you install and troubleshoot thermostats, float switches and HVAC safety controls? Do you have experience making basic ductwork transitions or modifications during HVAC replacements?
