Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an HVAC Installation Helper and play a vital role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Installerthat will install, connect, and test heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential and commercial buildings. You will lay out ductwork, connect electrical and gas lines, and ensure all systems run safely and efficiently. Duties Assist with the installation of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Support technicians in reading schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to ensure accurate system setup. Handle basic mechanical tasks such as connecting ductwork, piping, electrical wiring, and plumbing components under supervision. Use hand tools and diagnostic equipment like ohmmeters to troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with repairs. Aid in performing routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation and longevity. Help identify issues related to electrical diagnostics, refrigeration problems, or mechanical system failures during service calls. Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols while assisting with equipment troubleshooting and installations. Skills Prior construction experience or hands-on work with mechanical systems is highly valued. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation systems enhances your effectiveness. Knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems including refrigeration cycles and ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; experience with equipment repair or property maintenance is advantageous. Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance processes. Customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients during service visits or installations. Valid driver's license (preferably driver) for transporting tools or equipment between job sites. Certifications such as EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) refrigerant handling certification are desirable but not mandatory for entry-level helpers; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is encouraged.
