Ammonia Refrigeration Technician TPG Staffing - Cape May, NJ, United States Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Our client, a major fishing and seafood processing company, is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician with a solid mechanical background for their Cape May, NJ facility. The individual hired for this position will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial refrigeration systems and controls, as well as other maintenance issues relating to hydraulics, electrical, welding, pipe fitting, machine installation, lights, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning. The ideal candidate will have HVAC or chiller experience and a NJ seal for toxic refrigeration.
Key Responsibilities:
Observing mechanical devices in operation; listening to their sounds to confirm proper operation or locate any causes of trouble. Properly servicing or performing preventative maintenance on equipment or machines based on manufacture requirements or guidelines, including lubricating and cleaning parts, dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, and examining parts to detect imperfections. Adjusting the functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairing or replacing defective parts and testing their performance. Maintaining the appropriate service and repair documentation required by law and company policy. Availability for some night shift work and in the case of emergencies.
Required Qualifications:
Four-year college, Technical or vocational school, or university program certificate; or a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong problem-solving skills. Solid communication and listening skills. Ability to present numerical data and read and interpret written information such as technical manuals effectively. A commitment to teamwork. A dedication to safety and security procedures. Ability to use maintenance database software and other programs such as VLM, Word, and Excel. Capability to regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
HVAC or chiller experience. NJ State toxic refrigeration seal (or the willingness to acquire one).
