Ammonia Refrigeration Technician Electrical Automation Services - 5.0 Harrison, NJ Job Details Full-time $38 - $42 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Chemical process safety Ammonia refrigeration systems Electrical systems facility management Electrical maintenance Process safety management (PSM) Full Job Description Electrical Automation Services is seeking an experienced Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot critical utility systems supporting continuous facility operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, boiler, and compressed air systems while maintaining compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain utility systems, including ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, boilers, and compressed air, to ensure continuous and reliable facility operations. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize equipment downtime. Perform preventative maintenance and routine equipment inspections to support system reliability and compliance. Monitor and optimize equipment performance, including the energy efficiency of ammonia compressors and boiler systems. Maintain safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance, including documentation related to Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plan (RMP), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Coordinate with internal teams and external resources to complete maintenance activities and support ongoing system uptime. Support emergency response efforts involving hazardous materials and utility system failures. Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Ensure work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Qualifications Blue Seal Ammonia certification or equivalent experience required. Boiler operation and maintenance experience required. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Working knowledge of PSM/RMP compliance requirements and GMP standards. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
