Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking an experienced Facilities Associate to support a client. Their purpose is to empower extraordinary young people to grow "From Potential to Achievement" by addressing the systemic educational and other barriers that have historically held back children from marginalized communities. This is a 3-month contract opportunity with potential for contract-to-hire for the right individual.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and custodial services on campus.
  • Keep campus buildings and grounds clean, orderly, safe, and secure.
  • Perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks including general and preventive maintenance and repair work in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
  • Serve as the primary on-site resource for HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, ensuring campus systems operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and support a variety of HVAC equipment including rooftop units, VRF systems, geothermal systems, heat pumps, and traditional mechanical HVAC systems.
  • Work closely with external HVAC vendors and contractors, helping coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and system improvements while ensuring the organization receives appropriate service and recommendations.
  • Communicate HVAC and facility-related issues to non-technical stakeholders, providing clear recommendations and helping campus leadership make informed decisions.
  • Support operation and basic oversight of building management and energy systems, including ETS (Energy Transfer Solutions).
  • Serve as an essential employee, providing on-site support during inclement weather, emergency situations, or other conditions that require campus access and operational continuity.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal, including clearing priority walkways, entrances, emergency access routes, and campus vehicles, as needed.
  • Support campus safety and accessibility needs to ensure students, staff, and visitors can safely navigate the campus.
  • Setup and breakdown of campus events.
  • Respond flexibly to urgent facilities needs that arise outside of typical routines or schedules.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a hands-on facilities professional with strong HVAC expertise who can serve as the campus's HVAC subject matter expert. They will be comfortable troubleshooting complex mechanical systems, working with outside vendors, communicating with non-technical staff, and helping ensure the campus's HVAC systems are properly maintained and operated. Skills and Requirements Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial or institutional HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience required.
  • 7-10 years of HVAC experience preferred.
  • HVAC certification (EPA, NATE, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience working with rooftop units, VRF systems, geothermal systems, heat pumps, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • General facilities maintenance experience including electrical, plumbing, or carpentry is preferred.
