Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment across our school district facilities. Your expertise will ensure that all building systems operate smoothly, efficiently, and safely to support a positive educational environment. Duties Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, ventilation fans, and building automation systems. Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics and mechanical issues using schematics, ohmmeters, and other hand tools. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure optimal performance. Repair refrigeration units, plumbing fixtures, electrical systems, and mechanical components as needed. Read and interpret schematics and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose system problems. Conduct equipment troubleshooting to identify faults quickly and implement effective repairs. Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, inspections, and system performance logs. Experience Proven construction experience with HVAC system installation and repair in commercial or educational settings. Service technician experience with mechanical systems repair, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration, and plumbing. Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R systems including boilers, air conditioning units, building automation systems, electrical systems, and related equipment. Familiarity with schematics interpretation and HVAC design principles. Experience using hand tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting. Knowledge of EPA regulations related to refrigerants (EPA certification required). Ability to work independently or as part of a team in maintaining multiple building systems efficiently.
