In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential settings. Duties Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment according to schematics and design plans. Conduct system testing and troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters to ensure proper operation and efficiency. Perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on existing HVAC equipment, including refrigeration systems and appliances. Read and interpret technical schematics, HVAC design documents, and mechanical drawings to accurately install systems. Utilize welding, plumbing, and mechanical knowledge to assemble and modify equipment as needed. Operate a driver vehicle safely to transport tools, parts, or equipment to job sites. Conduct property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems such as ductwork adjustments or boiler servicing. Diagnose issues with refrigeration or ammonia refrigeration systems in residential or small commercial applications. Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and local building codes while maintaining a high standard of quality workmanship. Experience Proven experience in construction or field service roles related to HVAC installation or repair. Service technician experience with HVAC/R systems, including refrigeration, appliance repair, or property maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design principles is essential. Mechanical knowledge spanning plumbing, welding, boiler operation, and equipment repair is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with refrigerants such as ammonia refrigeration is a plus. Ability to operate diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively in troubleshooting scenarios. Prior mechanic experience or certification in HVAC/R enhances your suitability for this role. Valid driver license required for safe transportation between job sites.
