Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Mechanic, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing essential mechanical systems that ensure comfort, safety, and efficiency across various facilities. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of HVAC equipment, from refrigeration units, providing critical service that keeps buildings and homes running smoothly. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems. Install new HVAC equipment and mechanical systems in accordance with design specifications and safety standards. Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to optimize performance and extend equipment lifespan. Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics issues using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults in electrical systems. Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems, ensuring proper water flow and drainage for refrigeration and heating units. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to facilitate accurate repairs and installations. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs for future reference. Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system status, repairs needed, and maintenance tips. Adhere to EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining certification for refrigerant management. Support building automation system (BAS) operations to optimize energy efficiency and environmental controls. Experience Proven construction experience with mechanical systems installation or repair projects. Service technician experience working on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) equipment in commercial or industrial settings. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools for equipment repair and maintenance. Familiarity with electrical systems diagnostics, including troubleshooting wiring issues within HVAC units. Experience reading schematics, blueprints, or HVAC design plans to accurately perform installations or repairs. Knowledge of refrigeration principles, boiler operation, and building automation systems is highly desirable. Ability to perform equipment troubleshooting efficiently while maintaining safety standards. EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required or preferred for compliance purposes.
