Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. Responsibilities Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, boilers, refrigeration units, and ammonia refrigeration equipment. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions. Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Troubleshoot electrical components using tools such as ohmmeters and diagnostic software; perform wiring repairs as needed. Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems including pipe fitting, leak detection, and component replacement. Weld or fabricate parts when necessary for system repairs or modifications; operate welding equipment safely. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports; communicate clearly with clients regarding system status and recommended actions. Drive company vehicle safely to various job sites; adhere to all safety protocols during field service operations. Assist with appliance repair and property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems when required. Ensure compliance with safety standards related to refrigerants such as R410A or ammonia; handle refrigerant recovery and recycling responsibly. Experience At least 7+ years proven experience as a service technician in commercial HVAC/R environments with a strong mechanical background. Hands-on experience with construction projects involving HVAC installation or renovation work. Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical systems troubleshooting. Familiarity with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; capable of equipment repair and maintenance. Previous field service experience working on air conditioning units, boilers, ventilation systems, or property maintenance is preferred. Valid driver's license (including driver if applicable) with a clean driving record. Additional certifications in refrigeration (e.g., EPA 608), welding, or boiler operation are advantageous but not required.
