Duties Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately. Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC units using tools such as ohmmeters. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficiency and longevity. Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems and address property maintenance issues as needed. Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform repairs on refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration systems, and appliances. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to complete installations and repairs efficiently while adhering to safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction throughout every interaction. Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference. Adhere to EPA regulations for refrigerant handling and disposal, ensuring environmentally responsible practices. Experience Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC system repair, installation, or maintenance. Construction experience is highly desirable for understanding building systems integration. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems repair. Hands-on experience with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) equipment including boilers and building automation systems. Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters. Prior experience working with property maintenance or appliance repair is advantageous. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications related to ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation are a plus.
