For proof, look no further than our strong working relationships and extraordinary workforce. Turner Industries Group is seeking an experienced HVAC Tech for a position in Painesville, OH. The Hvac Tech position assembles, installs, services, and repairs air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units used in homes, schools, commercial, and industrial buildings. . Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.
Essential Qualifications:
The HVAC technician should have the following credentials. HVAC certification from a technical school. EPA 608 Universal Certification Minimum of 5 years field experience with general HVAC troubleshooting. Minimum of 2 years industrial field experience Petrochemical experience a plus Experience installing/troubleshooting/repairing Roof top units (RTU's). Make-up air units (MAU's). Air-handler units (AHU's) with air conditioner units. Heat pumps Chiller Units/Systems Experience with refrigeration systems. Experience with HVAC controls Niagara would be a plus.
Functional Requirements:
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy, Look at flat drawings or pictures and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth, Perform a variety of duties which may change often, Rate information using measurable standards, Studies building plans and working drawing to determine work aids required and sequence of installations, May measure windows or other existing openings, or cutting through walls, using a mallet, cold chisel, or other tools to install new units, Diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns, Test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs, May drill holes to mount units and lift parts into position, Locates and marks position of pipe and/or duct connections and passage holes for same in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob, Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and/or duct fittings, using hand tools and power tools, Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine, Connects motors to control panels and balances motors to insure efficient operation, Connects control panels to power source, May weld holding fixtures to steel structural members, May install and maintain solar heating and cooling units, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. Compensation Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Physical Involvement:
May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; typing / data entry; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment Turner Industries is an equal employment opportunity employer.
