Burkholder's Heating & Air Conditioning has been family-owned and serving the Lehigh Valley since 1960. We are looking for a Senior Residential HVAC Service Technician with at least five years of strong hands-on service experience who is ready to work independently, solve complex problems, and represent a company known locally for quality workmanship and customer service.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
$38
  • 40/hour , based on experience Regular schedule of 8:00 AM-4:30 PM , with a 30-minute lunch Dispatch from home to customer locations primarily within the Lehigh Valley On-call rotation for one day, once every 9 days Premium overtime opportunities, including time-and-a-half and double-time pay Company truck and stocked service vehicle Additional earning opportunities for service agreement and equipment referrals/sales Established, family-owned company with 65+ years in business Ongoing technical and vendor training
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This is an advanced service role for a technician who can take ownership of the call from diagnosis through resolution.
You will:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC systems Work with furnaces, air conditioning systems, heat pumps, geothermal equipment, controls/control boards, generators, and related equipment Read wiring schematics and use manufacturer technical information to diagnose complex issues Evaluate airflow and overall system performance Explain findings and repair or upgrade options clearly to homeowners Complete work orders and service documentation using ServiceTitan Maintain an organized company truck, tools, and inventory Provide guidance to less-experienced technicians when needed Work safely in attics, outdoor conditions, and other typical residential HVAC environments
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
6-10+ years of hands-on HVAC service and repair experience Strong residential troubleshooting and diagnostic ability Working knowledge of electrical components, controls, heating, cooling, and heat pump systems; generator and geothermal experience strongly preferred Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in the field Strong customer communication skills and a professional, service-minded approach Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to perform the physical requirements of field HVAC work Reliability, attention to detail, and pride in doing the job correctly
