Daylight The function of the service technician is to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems. The Service Technician is responsible for performing those operations as assigned to them by the Dispatchers. They are responsible for maintaining the quality of his work up to acceptable company standards and for representing the company in a manner that promotes good relations. What's in it for you? Diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment properly the first time he is at a customer's location Be neat and clean at all times and keeping his truck and equipment the same Attend all training classes and training seminars to keep his expertise upgraded in his field Adhering to proper procedures in the use of paperwork (work order, return material tags, etc.) Take direction regarding scheduling from dispatcher Keeping the Dispatcher informed at all times so they can better plan Fill out paperwork while on the job, including time card, work order, and warranty tags Collect payment for services rendered where required Follow through on job problems Use company software Turn in all paperwork to office making sure it is filled out completely and accurately Responsible for having all minimum required stock on truck at all times Maybe asked to assist in training apprentice level techs Other tasks as requested by the service manager, operations manager, or CEO Education and/or Experience EPA Certification NATE certified or be working towards NATE certification (company paid) Must have valid drivers' license and a good driving record Must have all required tools Ability to represent the company in a professional manner with customers, vendors, staff and the general public Work well under pressure Must have valid drivers' license and a good driving record Must have all required tools Ability to handle difficult customer/diagnostic issues Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events Good communicator - works well with different customers and office personnel personality styles Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, lift, and crawl. Must be able to climb a ladder. Self-motivated and able to handle rapidly changing priorities and several tasks simultaneously. Must be able to respond to difficult situations with customers and co-workers with high level of professionalism. Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and co-workers. Must be able to follow safety guidelines at all times. Communicates and interacts with employees on all levels in the office and in the field.
