Pay:
$20.00-$24.00 per hour Build a Skilled Trade Career with a 4-Day Work Week! ACE of NEPA is hiring a Weatherization Furnace Assistant/Installer to help improve the safety, comfort, and energy efficiency of homes throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Whether you have experience in HVAC, plumbing, construction, carpentry, or home improvement—or you're looking to expand your trade skills—we provide paid training , certification opportunities, and room for advancement. Furnace Responsibilities Diagnose furnace issues and determine appropriate repairs or replacement. Install replacement furnaces and related equipment. Perform furnace cleanings and tune-ups. Install bath fans, dryer vents, drip tubes, and related components. Document furnace conditions with photographs. Maintain inventory, supplies, and required job documentation. Weatherization Responsibilities Install attic and sidewall insulation. Air seal homes using caulk and spray foam. Install weatherstripping, door sweeps, and other energy-saving products. Perform minor carpentry and home repairs. Conduct blower door testing and record results. Load and organize tools and materials. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site. Ensure every home is left in the same or better condition than when work began. Qualifications We're looking for dependable individuals who enjoy physical, hands-on work and take pride in quality craftsmanship.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience in HVAC, plumbing, construction, carpentry, weatherization, or a related trade General knowledge of mechanical systems and building construction Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Valid driver's license required High School Diploma or GED Ability to obtain Weatherization Furnace Assistant/Installer certification within 120 days of hire (training provided at no cost) Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 25 pounds Bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and work in confined spaces Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Travel locally to residential job sites throughout the workday Why You'll Love This Job This is more than a construction job—it's an opportunity to build a career while helping families lower their utility bills, improve home safety, and increase energy efficiency.
