Job Description

Travel HVAC Technician Base Location:
Roanoke, VA Travel Requirement:
Approximately 75% travel (Mid-Atlantic & Southeastern regions) Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Travel HVAC Technician to join our facilities operations team supporting a network of commercial senior living communities. This position is based out of Roanoke, Virginia, with frequent travel throughout the region. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience servicing
PTAC/VTAC
units, split systems, and rooftop commercial HVAC systems, while also managing preventive maintenance schedules and ensuring all assigned buildings remain in optimal operating condition. A company van and all required tools are provided. Key Responsibilities Perform installation, service, and repair of
HVAC, PTAC/VTAC
units, and related mechanical systems across multiple senior living communities. Diagnose and resolve issues on split systems, air handlers, rooftop units, refrigerant circuits, and thermostatic controls. Oversee and manage all assigned buildings' preventive maintenance programs, ensuring all PM tasks are completed accurately, fully documented, and on schedule. Conduct seasonal system checks and equipment performance evaluations. Coordinate with local HVAC vendors for replacement units, major repairs, or parts procurement when needed. Maintain compliance with company standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with on-site maintenance and community management teams to ensure prompt and efficient service. Track and record all service work, preventive maintenance, and parts usage in a timely manner. Travel regularly for scheduled maintenance, emergency calls, equipment installation, and special projects. Represent the company with professionalism and strong communication skills at all times. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of HVAC service experience in commercial or senior living environments. Demonstrated experience working with
PTAC/VTAC
systems required. Residential HVAC experience welcomed. Experience in multi-family, mixed-use, or healthcare/senior living environments preferred. EPA Universal 608 Certification (federally required for refrigerant handling). NATE Certification preferred. R-410A Certification for servicing high-efficiency refrigerant systems. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays. Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple facilities and preventive maintenance schedules independently. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay (commensurate with experience). Pay:
$30.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
