Universal Certification Full Job Description About This Role This position focuses on commercial retrofit HVAC work — upgrading and replacing existing building systems including HVAC equipment to improve energy efficiency, meet code requirements, and boost overall performance. What You'll Do Remove and replace commercial heating and cooling equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, chillers, and rooftop package units. Install modern systems such as Variable Air Volume (VAV) and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) equipment, along with advanced building controls. Run low-voltage control wiring and complete rough-in work. Assist with light sheet metal fabrication and installation as needed. Follow all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Communicate with customers on-site to answer questions and explain work being performed. Work alongside crew members to keep projects on schedule and meet customer expectations. What You'll Bring 3+ years of hands-on HVAC experience. Proficiency with VRF Systems and light commercial work. Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and manufacturer documentation. Physical capability to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces. Solid troubleshooting instincts when installation challenges arise. EPA Universal certification required.
