- Position Summary
- The Senior HVAC/R Technician serves as the technical lead and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HVAC, refrigeration, and critical temperature-controlled systems.
This role is responsible for maintaining system reliability, preventing temperature excursions, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, leading installations and projects, and supporting compliance in a regulated facility environment. Availability to respond to equipment emergencies is required.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Lead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC/R and refrigeration systems.
+ Monitor and maintain critical equipment including air handlers, exhaust fans, refrigerators, freezers, and stability chambers.
+ Serve as the HVAC/R SME and point of contact in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
+ Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring maintenance activities.
+ Develop and update maintenance procedures, PM checklists, and work instructions.
+ Lead equipment installations, facility improvement projects, and contractor coordination.
+ Maintain spare parts inventory and document all work in the maintenance management system.
+ Support audits, compliance efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Collaborate with other Facilities team members and trades to support site operations.
- Qualifications
- + 10+ years of industrial or commercial HVAC/R experience.
+ EPA Section 608 Certification required.
+ Refrigeration License required.
+ High School Diploma, Technical School Certificate, Military Technical Training, or Associate Degree.
+ Strong troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance experience.
+ Pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing experience preferred. We are an equal opportunity employer.
