HVAC Technician -
Refrigerant Systems & Controls Location:
West Union, South Carolina (On-Site)
Job Summary:
We are supporting a role focused on maintaining and optimizing refrigerant-based HVAC systems that keep facilities running efficiently and reliably. Our team is looking for a technically strong professional who can diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and help support safe, compliant building operations.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, service, and repair refrigerant-based HVAC equipment, including chillers, DX units, heat pumps, rooftop units, and related systems. Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak detection, brazing, and compressor repairs in line with EPA and safety standards. Troubleshoot HVAC electrical components, low-voltage controls, sensors, and automation devices while monitoring system performance. Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, document findings and repairs, and support startups, commissioning, and functional testing activities.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal). 3-5 years of hands-on experience servicing refrigerant-based HVAC systems. Proven experience troubleshooting compressors, refrigerant circuits, and mechanical components. Working knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, low-voltage controls, and safety procedures. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
