Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician with Test & Balance (TAB) experience to support commercial and industrial HVAC projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing, adjusting, and balancing HVAC systems and equipment, with commissioning experience preferred . This position will work closely with HVAC, controls, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure systems are properly installed, tested, balanced, documented, and operating according to project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems. Test and verify air and water flow throughout HVAC systems. Balance supply, return, and exhaust air systems. Perform HVAC system performance testing and troubleshooting. Verify proper operation of air handling units, fans, VAV boxes, dampers, pumps, chillers, and related equipment. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, HVAC plans, schematics, and equipment specifications . Use TAB instruments and diagnostic equipment to collect and document system readings. Identify airflow, temperature, pressure, and equipment performance issues and make necessary adjustments. Assist with HVAC commissioning activities , functional performance testing, and system verification. Work with controls technicians to verify proper operation of HVAC controls and sequences. Document test results, deficiencies, adjustments, and final system conditions. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, commissioning personnel, and other trades to resolve system issues. Perform additional HVAC testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning support as required.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an HVAC Technician in commercial or industrial environments. Demonstrated experience with HVAC Test & Balance (TAB) . Strong understanding of HVAC systems, airflow, pressure, temperature, and system performance. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, and specifications. Experience using HVAC testing and diagnostic equipment. OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification required (or be willing to obtain). HVAC commissioning experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a project team. Must be comfortable working on active construction sites and around other trades. Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas when required.
