Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Service Supervisor to lead our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) service team. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily operations of HVAC service technicians, ensuring the delivery of exceptional maintenance, repair, and installation services across diverse commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise in HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems, combined with strong leadership and customer service skills. Duties Supervise and coordinate HVAC service technicians to ensure efficient completion of maintenance, repairs, and system installations. Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of complex HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning systems, and building automation systems. Review schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design documents to facilitate accurate diagnostics and repairs. Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify issues within electrical systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations such as EPA certifications for refrigerant handling. Manage inventory levels of hand tools, mechanical parts, and equipment necessary for service operations. Provide training and mentorship to technicians on equipment troubleshooting, system maintenance, and new technologies. Maintain detailed records of service activities, including work orders, system diagnostics, repairs performed, and parts used. Foster excellent customer relationships through professional communication and timely resolution of service issues. Collaborate with project managers on HVAC system installation projects from planning through commissioning. Experience Proven experience in construction or HVAC service technician roles with a strong background in HVAC system repair and maintenance. Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems including mechanical knowledge of equipment troubleshooting. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical systems repair. Hands-on experience with equipment repair involving hand tools and specialized diagnostic instruments such as ohmmeters. Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in a fast-paced service environment preferred. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling required; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or ammonia refrigeration are advantageous. Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics accurately to diagnose complex system issues. Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
