In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Install new HVAC equipment following schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design specifications to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards. Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems to maximize efficiency and lifespan, including cleaning, calibrating, and replacing worn components. Troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and electrical diagnostics equipment to identify faults accurately. Repair plumbing components associated with HVAC systems and refrigeration units to ensure seamless operation. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams for effective troubleshooting and installation. Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with all work completed. Adhere to safety protocols including EPA certification requirements for refrigerant handling and proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment. Assist in training junior technicians when needed and stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies and industry standards. Qualifications Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a strong background in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Construction experience is preferred to understand building integration processes thoroughly. Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge encompassing plumbing, boiler operation, air conditioning units, mechanical systems repair, and equipment troubleshooting. Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, voltmeters, ohmmeters; familiarity with electrical systems is essential. Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications related to HVAC/R are advantageous. Ability to interpret technical diagrams accurately while following safety standards diligently. Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with clients and team members.
