Position Overview The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic, under general supervision, supervises the installation and maintenance of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operations Support Services, repairs, and operates all air conditioning, heating and refrigeration systems. Plans and schedules activities and services with Supervisor. Identifies and reports service repair supplies and equipment needs. Assists with implementing preventive maintenance programs of space conditioning and environmental controls. Responds to hot and cold call priorities as needed. Completes workorder documentation timely and effectively. Compliance and Policy Implementation Develops and maintains knowledge and understanding of relevant state guidelines. Special Projects and Reporting Will participate with on-call duties for evenings, weekends and special events. Acts as service responders during emergencies, weather, and catastrophic events. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Communicates effectively with building occupants/stakeholders of work and service progress. Communicates effectively with Campus Operations EHS team of concerns and/or emergencies. Required Qualifications Education- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience
- Six years of related experience. Required Licenses and Certifications EPA 608 (Universal) Certification or ability to gain certification within 12 months Registered TDLR
- AC Technician or ability to gain certification within 12 months Preferred Qualifications To be a Certified AC Technician under TDLR AC Contractor License
- Class A license. Class B license. Contractor Endorsements that accompany a contractor's license: Environmental Air Conditioning
- includes treating air to control temperature, humidity, cleanliness, ventilation, and circulation to meet human comfort requirements Commercial Refrigeration
- includes the use of mechanical or absorption equipment to control temperature or humidity to satisfy the intended use of a specific space Process Cooling or Heating
- includes controlling temperature, humidity, or cleanliness solely for production requirements or the proper operation of equipment.
