Job Description We are looking for a Residential New Construction HVAC Mechanic I-III to join our dynamic team. The
RNC HVAC
Mechanic Position is dedicated to servicing our HVAC Installs. 80%+ of their service calls will be on Austin Air HVAC Installs. This role will perform standard HVAC work. TheRNC HVAC
Mech I-IV is a great beginner level position for candidates who have recently graduated with, or are currently pursuing, HVAC Certifications/Degrees, entry level technicians with minimal experience, or candidates who have the mechanical aptitude for service and a desire to start a career path in HVAC. This role will work under close- general supervision & guidance, depending on the Level filled.
RNC HVAC
Mechanic. The purpose for theRNC HVAC
Mech I-III is to allow a path to grow into General HVAC Mech I-IV who can confidently service a greater range of complexity within various equipment types, brands, ages, etc. Responsibilities include but are not limited to•RNC Mech I:
Performs entry-level heating, ventilation, and air condition mechanic work. This role works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may rely on direction from other to solve problems that are not standard. Employees at this level may have limited experience and spend the majority of their time performing simple to routine work following standard procedures.Employees at this level may:
Diagnosis and Perform basic mechanic work such as dirty filters, faulty capacitors, thermostat programming, air balances, and preventative maintenance services Document and maintain records such as invoices, warranty forms, and receipts. Use & learn to use various tools, such as refrigerant gauges, vacuum pump recover machine, volt meter, torch kit, carbon monoxide detector, etc. Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE. Maintain a Clean and safe work environment dailyRNC Mech II:
Performs complex HVAC mechanic work. May provide guidance to others. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Employees at this level may:
Overhaul and service HVAC equipment Overhaul and service compressors and pumps associated with HVAC equipment and systems Repair and replace worn or broken parts on furnaces, coils, condensers, and compressors. Repair and adjust valves, piping connections, fittings, and couplings. Test equipment for refrigerant leak, charging, and metering device issues. Remove and install motors, thermostats, and humidistats. Adjust expansion valves and add gas to refrigeration units. Check gauges and perform preventative maintenance work.Solder RNC Mech III:
Performs advanced HVAC Mechanic. Works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Employees at this level may:
Plan and oversee HVAC replacement Inspect job sites to insure contract compliance, proper workmanship, and safety Review the work of others to ensure compliance with applicable codes or ordinances Can cross into servicing homes outside RNC as needed Reports To RNC Field Supervisor Requirements 1+ years proven experience and or education in related experience Can Speak, Read, and Write English, Spanish is a Plus Clean Background Clean Driving Record Must be able to Pass Drug Screen Basic Proficiency in using hand and power tools Manual Dexterity Must be able to lift, pull push bulky and/or items up to 50lbs Must be able to read fine print and small details on plans and specs Must be able to stand or kneel for long periods of time Must be able to crawl through small spaces Must have and maintain EPA 2 Certification Will work in extreme elements such as heat and cold Must be able to work around potential allergic triggers such as dust, dirt, insulation, new construction debris, household pets, grass, etc. Compensation At The Austin Air Company, we understand that our employees are the cornerstone of our success. Rotating On Call Schedule Pay Type:
Hourly Non-Exempt $20- $24 an hour dependent on previous experience and skill set
Pay:
$18.00- $24.
