Technician Certification Electrical control system maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting Full Job Description Refrigeration Technician Job DescriptionPosition Summary The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial refrigeration systems and equipment. This position diagnoses mechanical and electrical issues, performs preventive maintenance, and ensures systems operate safely and efficiently. The Refrigeration Technician provides professional customer service while working independently at customer homes, businesses, and other service locations. Essential Functions- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration equipment and systems.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system failures using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, thermostats, motors, and related components.
- Repair refrigerant leaks and perform refrigerant recovery, charging, and disposal in accordance with EPA regulations.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Complete service tickets, work orders, inspection reports, and required documentation accurately and timely.
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair estimates to customers and management.
- Respond to scheduled service calls and emergency service requests.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the company professionally while interacting with residential and commercial customers. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- EPA Section 608 Certification.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company's driving standards.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical circuits, controls, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and schematics.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments. Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a refrigeration technology, HVACR, or related trade program.
- Experience servicing residential and commercial refrigeration systems.
- Experience with walk in coolers, walk in freezers, ice machines, beverage systems, and specialty refrigeration equipment.
- OSHA safety training certification.
