In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of HVAC equipment across diverse commercial and industrial settings. Duties Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults in electrical systems related to HVAC/R equipment. Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficient operation and extend equipment lifespan. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs and installations with precision and safety. Diagnose complex issues involving plumbing, electrical systems, refrigeration cycles, or ammonia refrigeration systems when applicable. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for compliance and quality assurance purposes. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients about system status and recommended solutions. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining proper certifications. Assist in the installation of new HVAC system components while adhering to safety standards and project specifications. Experience Proven experience in construction or HVAC service technician roles with a strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and installation. Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, HVAC design principles, and building automation systems. Hands-on experience with HVAC/R equipment troubleshooting including refrigeration cycles, boilers, air conditioning units, and ammonia refrigeration systems. Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC applications is preferred. Ability to operate hand tools effectively along with diagnostic instruments such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting. Prior experience working with electrical systems within commercial or industrial environments is highly desirable. Valid driver's license with clean driving record; experience as a van driver is a plus. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or electrical diagnostics are advantageous.
