Monday-Friday Summary:
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Controls Project Manager to lead commercial building automation and controls projects. This position is ideal for someone who understands both the technical and construction sides of building automation and is comfortable taking ownership of projects from initial handoff through installation, startup, commissioning, and closeout. You'll work closely with customers, contractors, field technicians, programmers, and internal teams to keep projects organized, profitable, and moving forward. What You'll Do Manage commercial BAS/BMS and HVAC controls projects from kickoff through completion Coordinate technicians, electricians, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and project schedules Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, mechanical contractors, and project stakeholders Review project plans, specifications, controls drawings, submittals, and construction schedules Coordinate field installation, controls programming, startup, commissioning, and turnover activities Track project budgets, labor hours, job costs, purchasing, change orders, and overall financial performance Conduct jobsite visits and participate in construction and coordination meetings Identify project risks, resolve field issues, and keep projects on schedule Maintain clear communication between field teams, engineering, programming, and customers Ensure completed projects meet quality expectations and contractual requirements What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience within building automation, HVAC controls, DDC, mechanical, or electrical construction Previous project management experience within BAS/BMS or HVAC controls strongly preferred Solid understanding of commercial HVAC systems and DDC controls Experience coordinating controls technicians, electricians, subcontractors, and other field personnel Ability to read mechanical plans, electrical schematics, controls drawings, and construction documents Experience managing project schedules, budgets, change orders, and job costs Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Familiarity with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Distech, ABB, or comparable BAS technologies is a plus Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the DFW area as needed A bit about us:- A growing, family-owned building automation and HVAC controls integrator serving multiple markets in Texas, specializing in designing, installing, programming, commissioning, and servicing sophisticated BAS solutions across commercial, healthcare, education, government, and industrial facilities.
