Required Qualifications:
Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position. High school diploma or GED. EPA Section 608 Universal Certification. One (1) year of HVAC employment/field experience. Basic knowledge of HVAC principles, tools, and safety practices. Ability to read and follow technical instructions and maintenance procedures. Available and willing to work after-hours on-call duty, on a rotating basis with other shop personnel Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a drivers license within 90 days of employment Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with commercial HVAC systems and building automation systems (BAS). Experience working in an educational or institutional environment. Job Description The University Facilities Management Department is seeking a motivated and dependable entry-level HVAC technician to join our maintenance team. This position assists with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across campus buildings. Job Duties Assist senior technicians with preventive maintenance and repairs of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Perform routine inspections of air handling units, exhaust fans, boilers, chillers, split systems, and related equipment. Change filters, belts, bearings, and other maintenance components as required. Monitor and document equipment performance and operating conditions. Respond to service requests and support campus work orders. Assist in diagnosing mechanical and electrical HVAC system issues. Follow all university safety procedures and applicable regulations. Support emergency response activities related to HVAC system failures or building comfort issues. Participate in training programs and continuing education opportunities. Additional Information to Applicants Must be available and willing to work after-hours, on-call duty on a rotating basis with other shop personnel.
