HVAC & Mechanical Construction Professional Position Titles Senior Startup & Warranty Service Technician Service Technician Mechanical Foreman General Superintendent / Mechanical Superintendent Commercial Estimator Assistant Project Manager Job Summary We are seeking skilled HVAC and mechanical construction professionals for roles involving HVAC service, startup and commissioning, mechanical supervision, estimating, and project management support. The position may involve diagnosing and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems, commissioning commercial mechanical equipment, supervising field crews, coordinating construction activities, preparing estimates, and supporting project managers. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. Perform startup, testing, and commissioning of chillers, boilers, air handling units, RTUs, VRF/VRV systems, pumps, cooling towers, and related equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues. Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, component replacements, and system adjustments. Complete service, startup, maintenance, and warranty documentation. Supervise and coordinate field crews, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades. Plan daily work assignments, manpower, materials, equipment, and work sequencing. Review blueprints, mechanical/electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules, and BIM documentation. Monitor project progress, quality, productivity, safety, and schedule compliance. Coordinate inspections, testing, startup, commissioning, punch-list, and closeout activities. Assist with RFIs, change orders, material coordination, project forecasting, invoicing, and project documentation. Prepare commercial HVAC estimates, bids, proposals, and pricing when required. Review project requirements, schematics, materials, labor, installation methods, and building codes. Communicate with customers, contractors, vendors, manufacturers, inspectors, and project management. Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to technicians, apprentices, mechanics, and field personnel. Maintain accurate service records, daily reports, time records, project documentation, and electronic work orders. Follow OSHA, EPA, lockout/tagout, confined-space, working-at-heights, and other applicable safety requirements. Qualifications & Skills Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment issues. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, specifications, and schedules. Knowledge of commercial mechanical construction and installation practices. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Customer service and relationship-building skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and electronic work-order or construction management systems. Procore, Bluebeam, BIM/Autodesk Construction Cloud, PlanGrid, or similar software knowledge is a plus. EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification and OSHA certifications are preferred/required depending on the role. NATE, manufacturer-specific HVAC certifications, HVAC/plumbing licenses, CPR/First Aid, and related trade certifications are a plus. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Physical & Work Environment Ability to lift and carry HVAC equipment, tools, and materials. Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access mechanical rooms, rooftops, crawlspaces, and confined spaces. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in active construction and service environments. Ability to work around electrical equipment, mechanical noise, dust, temperature extremes, and varying weather conditions. Willingness to travel between job sites and participate in on-call, weekend, evening, or extended-hour work when required.
Pay:
$24.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
