Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead HVAC Mechanic to oversee and execute complex heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems within commercial or industrial settings. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of technicians, ensure the seamless operation of mechanical systems, and uphold the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Your expertise in HVAC design, system repair, installation, and troubleshooting will drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Duties Lead and coordinate HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair projects across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and plumbing issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes swiftly. Oversee HVAC system repairs including air conditioning units, boilers, building automation systems, and other mechanical systems to optimize performance and longevity. Supervise the use of hand tools and equipment troubleshooting techniques to perform precise repairs on HVAC/R systems. Review HVAC schematics and design plans to ensure proper installation and maintenance procedures are followed. Conduct electrical diagnostics on electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment to resolve faults efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating technical information clearly and ensuring client needs are met with professionalism. Maintain detailed records of all service activities, inspections, repairs, and system upgrades for compliance and future reference. Manage inventory of parts and tools necessary for ongoing maintenance tasks while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Drive continuous improvement by mentoring technicians on best practices in HVAC system repair, installation techniques, building automation systems, and safety procedures. Experience Proven experience in construction or industrial environments with a strong background in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance. Service technician experience with hands-on work involving HVAC/R systems including refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with schematics reading, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters or multimeters. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently through mechanical knowledge and electrical diagnostics. Experience working with plumbing systems related to HVAC setups is preferred. Strong understanding of building automation systems (BAS) as well as electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment. Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants is required; additional certifications in HVAC/R or boiler operation are advantageous. Ability to operate hand tools safely while maintaining high standards of quality workmanship. Valid van driver's license preferred for transportation between job sites as needed. Pay:
$29.79 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
