Job Description

CoolSys is hiring a Journeyman HVAC Installation technician to install, retrofit, and start up commercial and industrial HVAC systems for retail, industrial, and mission-critical customers. In this field-based role, you'll interpret plans and specs, set equipment, run ductwork and piping, make electrical and control connections, and support system start-up to ensure safe, code-compliant, energy-efficient operation. You'll work within a safety-first, team-oriented culture with access to technical training, career advancement, and exposure to advanced HVAC-R and energy optimization solutions nationwide. Responsibilities Install and retrofit commercial and industrial HVAC systems per plans and specifications. Fabricate and install ductwork, refrigerant piping, and condensate/drain lines. Set rooftop units, air handlers, and related HVAC equipment safely and accurately. Complete electrical, low-voltage, and control wiring connections for HVAC systems. Assist with equipment start-up, testing, and commissioning for proper operation. Ensure work complies with mechanical codes, safety standards, and Cool Sys quality guidelines. Maintain tools, materials, and jobsite organization to support efficient installations. Document work performed and communicate effectively with customers, GC, and project managers. Follow all Cool Sys and OSHA safety procedures, including PPE and job hazard assessments. Support and mentor apprentices and helpers, promoting teamwork and continuous learning.
