Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes efficiently. Perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC equipment including refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning systems, and building automation systems. Install new HVAC systems, ensuring proper setup of mechanical and electrical components in compliance with safety standards and design specifications. Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency; perform preventative maintenance as needed. Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, valves, electrical wiring, and refrigeration parts. Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders accurately, and communicate effectively with clients about system status and recommended solutions. Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems when necessary; support property maintenance activities involving mechanical systems. Experience Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician with construction experience preferred. Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems diagnostics, and refrigeration technology. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting across various mechanical systems. Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), electrical diagnostics, ammonia refrigeration (a plus), and boiler operation is highly desirable. Familiarity with plumbing work related to HVAC equipment; proficiency with hand tools and mechanical repair techniques. Valid EPA certification for refrigerants; experience working as a field service technician in diverse environments. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings.
