Responsibilities Conduct thorough testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC systems including air distribution, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical systems to meet project specifications. Interpret schematics, blueprints, control diagrams, and HVAC system design documents to accurately evaluate system performance. Utilize hand tools and electronic testing equipment to diagnose electrical diagnostics issues, equipment troubleshooting needs, and mechanical systems repair requirements. Perform system installation tasks for HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration), ensuring compliance with safety standards such as EPA regulations for refrigerants. Troubleshoot complex issues related to electrical systems, building automation systems (BAS), boilers, ammonia refrigeration units, and other mechanical components. Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure timely completion of testing phases while maintaining high quality standards. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system operations and maintenance procedures clearly to clients post-installation or repair. Qualifications Proven construction experience combined with service technician background in HVAC or related mechanical fields. Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems, plumbing connections, and mechanical systems repair. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, installation, maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting. Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, boilers, ammonia refrigeration units, and appliance repair is highly desirable. Proficiency with hand tools and electronic testing devices used for equipment diagnostics. Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in property maintenance or field service roles. Valid driver's license with a clean record; ability to operate a driver vehicle as required. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are essential; additional certifications in HVAC/R or boiler operation are a plus.
