Job Description
Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installation Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced HVAC professional who can confidently install a wide range of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment while leading an installation crew. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of HVAC installation experience, strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills, and the ability to take ownership of an installation from start to finish. You will work alongside your crew in the field while providing direction, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring each job is completed safely, efficiently, and professionally. Duties Lead and perform HVAC installations for residential and commercial applications. Furnaces, Air conditioning systems, Heat Pumps, Boilers, Mini-Split Systems, Refrigeration Systems, Rooftop Units, etc. Associated ductwork, controls, piping, and equipment Direct and supervise installation helpers and technicians on job sites. Read and interpret equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and mechanical plans. Ensure installations are completed according to manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and company standards. Properly start up, test, adjust, and commission newly installed equipment. Diagnose and resolve installation-related issues in the field. Ensure proper refrigerant handling and recovery procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Communicate effectively with customers, office staff, project managers, and other trades. Monitor job progress and help ensure installations stay on schedule. Train and mentor less-experienced installation technicians. Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate material or equipment needs. Identify potential problems before they become costly installation issues. Represent the company professionally while working in customers' homes and commercial facilities. Follow all company safety policies and applicable federal, state, and local codes. Requirements Proven construction experience with a strong background in HVAC system installation and mechanical systems repair. Service technician experience with hands-on knowledge of HVAC/R equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals accurately. Mechanical knowledge of refrigeration systems, boilers, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation controls. Proficiency with hand tools and equipment repair techniques necessary for complex mechanical repairs. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Certification in EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations related to refrigerants. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members. Experience working in field service environments with a focus on property maintenance or appliance repair is highly valued.
