Overview Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Technician and become a vital part of creating comfortable, efficient indoor environments. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, heating equipment, refrigeration systems, and building automation controls. Your expertise will ensure that clients experience optimal indoor air quality and energy efficiency. Responsibilities Install new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, electrical wiring, and mechanical components, following schematics and HVAC design plans. Perform routine maintenance on existing HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems using electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, refrigerant gauges, and specialized equipment troubleshooting techniques. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and building automation system diagrams to accurately install or repair complex mechanical systems. Conduct system inspections to identify issues related to refrigeration, plumbing connections, electrical wiring, or mechanical components; perform necessary repairs or replacements. Ensure compliance with EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling and environmental safety standards during system servicing. Communicate effectively with customers by explaining system issues clearly and providing professional recommendations for repairs or upgrades. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to track system performance and service history. Experience Proven construction experience with HVAC system installation and repair in residential or commercial settings. Service technician experience with HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems. Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC equipment such as boilers, air conditioning units, ammonia refrigeration systems, and building automation controls. Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics—including use of tools like ohmmeters—and equipment troubleshooting techniques. Hands-on experience with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems; welding skills are a plus. Knowledge of electrical systems involved in HVAC installation and repair; ability to diagnose electrical faults accurately. Experience working with hand tools and mechanical systems repair in field service environments. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate company vehicles safely. EPA certification for refrigerant handling is required; additional certifications in HVAC design or building automation are advantageous. $29.03 - $35.00 per hour
