Overview Join our dynamic team as a Sheet Metal Installer and become a vital part of creating efficient, reliable HVAC and mechanical systems. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining sheet metal components used in heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and other mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure that building systems operate smoothly, providing comfort and safety for clients. Duties Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately install sheet metal components in HVAC systems and mechanical setups. Install ductwork, ventilation systems, exhaust hoods, and related sheet metal assemblies following safety standards and project specifications. Troubleshoot equipment issues by diagnosing mechanical problems using electrical diagnostics and equipment troubleshooting techniques. Perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on HVAC systems—including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and building automation systems. Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to cut, bend, assemble, and secure sheet metal parts with precision. Collaborate with service technicians and other trades to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical components. Maintain a clean work environment while adhering to safety protocols; operate company vans safely as a driver to transport tools and materials to job sites. Experience Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC system installation or sheet metal work. Service technician experience in HVAC/R or related mechanical fields is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprints, HVAC design principles, electrical systems, plumbing, and building automation systems. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical diagnostics, equipment repair, and mechanical systems repair. Familiarity with refrigerant handling procedures in compliance with EPA regulations; certification is preferred. Mechanical knowledge including boiler operation, appliance repair, property maintenance or similar roles that require technical aptitude. Ability to operate hand tools effectively; experience with equipment troubleshooting is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience as a van driver is advantageous.
