Role Overview Our peanut shelling facility in Headland, AL, is currently looking for a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic. The standard schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, which includes an unpaid break for lunch. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all machinery meets operational standards by providing both preventive and reactive maintenance support. Please note that this position requires availability for after-hours call-ins during evenings and weekends to address facility needs as they arise. Core Responsibilities Diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues Performing repairs, overhauls, and routine upkeep on machinery Contributing to a collaborative team environment while maintaining the ability to work autonomously Suggesting equipment enhancements to boost overall machine reliability and output Interpreting technical schematics and manuals Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and equipment adjustments Handling additional tasks as assigned Necessary Qualifications Proficiency in coupling alignments, conveyor systems, rigging, hydraulics, and metal fabrication techniques like cutting and welding Comprehensive knowledge of plant processing equipment, including vibration systems, augers, elevators, and gearboxes Strong communication skills to ensure effective collaboration and clear documentation Demonstrated background in high-speed manufacturing environments High level of precision in both written and verbal communication Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems Familiarity with standard industrial protocols and operational practices Strong interpersonal abilities and clear written communication Relevant industry expertise Professional Background Demonstrated high level of mechanical aptitude Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience Additional Requirements A track record of prioritizing safety and actively participating in safety enhancement initiatives Flexibility to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required Consistent attendance and the physical capacity to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, work in confined spaces or at heights, and remain mobile for extended periods Ability to perform duties in a diverse plant setting, including exposure to varying temperatures and dusty conditions Full accountability for adhering to all established safety and environmental health protocols
