PM Job Summary:

Locke Manufacturing is seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined individual to join its manufacturing team. The Mechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, repairing, testing, and inspecting mechanical products while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking pride in producing high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble mechanical components and finished products according to blueprints, drawings, diagrams, work orders, and written instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment safely and effectively. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work orders. Inspect parts and materials for quality and identify defects before assembly. Repair and test mechanical products as required. Troubleshoot assembly issues and recommend possible improvements. Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality standards. Work with supervisors and team members to resolve production issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Cross-train and assist in other departments when needed. Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred. Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience, technical training, hobbies, automotive repair, farming, construction, military service, or similar experience. Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools. Ability to read a tape measure accurately. Ability to perform basic math. Ability to read and follow written instructions, work orders, and diagrams. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8-10-hour shift. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull as needed. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Ability to safely wear required PPE. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous mechanical assembly experience. Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, automotive repair, welding, machining, fabrication, construction, or industrial maintenance. Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings. Experience using precision measuring instruments. Basic electrical or pneumatic knowledge. Forklift experience preferred but not required. Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and think critically. Willingness to cross-train in multiple departments. Continuous improvement mindset.
