An Industrial Mechanic repairs and maintains complex machines used in production or manufacturing, such as conveyor belts; may use computerized diagnostic equipment.
The Mechanical Assembly Fabricator will be responsible for automotive conversions, welding, and sheet metal fabrications.
Essential Job Functions and Duties:
Responsible for installing new door openings or frames to support wheelchair positions. Must Follow blueprints accurately to complete conversions Responsible for cutting, welding, building and inspect welds for durability. Responsible for dismantling vehicle components and reinstalling (axles, gas tanks, fuel lines, brake lines, exhaust, etc.). Responsible for diagnosing problems and making corrections. Perform all duties to meet company quality standards Comply with all safety guidelines as directed Complete other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications and Entrance Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; must pass weld test at the time of interview Prefer 1+ years of metal fabrication experience in manufacturing; welding, vocational school, mechanical/autobody a plus. Skills/Abilities Welding exhaust systems and stainless-steel a plus 12v wiring experience a plus Must be capable of using tools such as a MIG welder, plasma cutters, grinders, chop saws, drills, impacts, wrenches, sockets, tape measure, blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications Ability to maintain a valid driver's license. Candidates must successfully complete criminal and motor vehicle background check Good energy and a positive attitude.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Able to function capably in a production environment using standard equipment (machine tools, welding equipment, hand tools, etc.) Frequently lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to complete the production-related physical activities (walking, standing, talking, hearing, pushing, reaching, seeing, stooping/crouching, smelling, depth perception, identifying colors) as needed. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to produce. Participate in required company safety programs, trainings, and PPE guidelines.
