Job Focus:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, refrigeration systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations at JD Food and Certified Meat Products. This role emphasizes preventive and predictive maintenance, regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to minimize downtime and support operational performance goals.

Description of Work Place:
Work is performed in a refrigerated food-production and warehouse environment (approximately 35°F-45°F) containing conveyors, grinders, slicers, pallet-handling systems, and other industrial equipment. The environment may involve wet floors, elevated noise levels, tight spaces, and frequent interaction with production personnel.
Description of Job tasks:
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-system issues. Repair, replace, and install motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, sensors, valves, and wiring. Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot refrigeration systems, temperature controls, and associated components (EPA-compliant). Calibrate instrumentation, sensors, and control devices to maintain operational accuracy. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals. Safely perform and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, food safety requirements, GMPs, and company safety policies. Document maintenance activities in the CMMS. Maintain spare-parts inventory. Collaborate cross-functionally and support continuous improvement. Train operators and junior maintenance staff. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Technical training preferred EPA 608 Certification preferred Forklift certification or ability to obtain Experience & Skills 2-4 years industrial maintenance experience Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills CMMS experience Welding and fabrication experience preferred Physical Requirements Lift up to 80 lbs Stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods Work in cold, wet, and noisy environments
Pay:
$20.00 - $35.00 per hour
