Job Description:
The Metal Fabricator and Mechanical Assembly position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing metal components and structures used in battery and solar installations according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires hands-on experience in metalworking with solar and energy storage structures, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication:
Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and work orders to fabricate metal parts and assemblies used in solar and energy storage systems. Coordinate with engineers and electrical fabricators.
Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain metal fabrication equipment, including but not limited to power tools, welders, grinders, shears, and press brakes.
Assembly:
Fit, weld, and assemble metal components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Quality Assurance:
Inspect and test finished products for conformance to specifications, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
Ordering:
Assist with ordering and inventory management of electrical components and supplies.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all company safety policies and procedures and adhere to OSHA regulations and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school certification preferred. 23 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a solar, energy related field. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to operate and maintain metalworking tools and equipment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods. Periodic field work. Compensation and Benefits $50,000.00 per year/ $ 24 rate per hour( Non Exempt) Performance bonus: 10% of
