Job Description

Alter Metal Recycling is looking for a Maintenance employee at its Greeley, CO facility. Industrial Maintenance Mechanics play a crucial role in our operation. As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic you will keep our facility equipment operating by performing work on conveyors, changing motor boxes, changing bearings and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Hours:
Monday through Friday 6:00am
  • 4pm.
Saturday possible based on operational needs.
Summary:
  • Maintains plant productivity by proactively managing maintenance function.
  • Ensure proper parts inventory
  • Maintain facility equipment
  • Performing PM s on: Downstream sorting lines, conveyors and machines. Diagnostics and minor repairs to industrial type of equipment including Mobile Equipment, Forklifts, front end loaders, skid steers, truck & Trailers.
  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance and repair work for machinery and various plant equipment e.g. Eddy Current Separator, System Conveyors, Trommels, etc. Knowledge on system conveyers is necessary.
  • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and electric systems, PLC, valves, cylinders, bearings, and electric motors.
  • Check with key operations (forklift, loader, and separator) to be sure all equipment is running properly; and schedule maintenance as required.
  • Prepare and maintain all maintenance records, and daily reports.
  • Assign, review, and check work of maintenance done by employees, providing on-the-job training as needed; eliminate ordinary work difficulties.
  • May be involved in a variety of other responsibilities including ordering of parts, welding, fabricating and performance electrical repairs (minor).
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Safety:
Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times.
Requirements:
  • Perform the basic functions of arithmetic; add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Compute ratio, rate and percent.
  • Familiarity with yard vehicles, forklift, loaders, and material separators a definite plus
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 30
  • 50 pounds.
