Production Mechanic

Immediate Start Job Summary:

To ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance work on equipment as well as responding to maintenance calls and general plant maintenance to reduce and limit down time. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience working in a high volume manufacturing facility in a maintenance mechanic role.

Responsibilities include:

Must have complete understanding of how labeling bottles and jars works. This is to include wrap, front and back, and three sided labels. Completes preventive maintenance work on equipment and production machines. Including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, etc. Keep manufacturing lines up and running while assisting manufacturing teams with problems relating to product quality and machine safety, including lock out/tag out procedures. Responsible for washouts and sanitization of all production equipment, following GMP guidelines. Must be able to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot equipment and locate source of problems. Controls downtime by informing production of mechanical issues and preventive maintenance scheduling Posses the skill to fabricate repair parts by using machine shop equipment. Help maintain the parts inventory by documenting what is being used in repairs and also identifying parts needed for upcoming maintenance. Maintains continuity by documenting and communicating work with the Engineering Manager. Safe and clean working environment by complying with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Qualifications:

5 years previous experience. Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to work well with others.
