Responsibilities:
Inspect, disassemble, Measure, clean, repair, rebuild, and assemble industrial pumps and rotating equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine the cause of equipment failure. Perform repairs and replacements of bearings, seals, packing, bushings, shafts, wear rings, impellers, sleeves, and other pump components. Measure shafts, housings, bearings, impellers, and other components using precision measuring tools. Read and interpret pump drawings, assembly drawings, manuals, and specifications. Perform pump alignment using dial indicators, laser alignment equipment, or other precision tools. Inspect repaired equipment to ensure proper fit, clearances, tolerances, and operating condition. Assist with testing pumps and equipment after repairs. Operate shop equipment and tools, including overhead cranes, forklifts, presses, grinders, drills, hydraulic equipment, and other mechanical equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Complete work orders, inspection reports, repair documentation, and parts lists accurately. Identify additional repair requirements and communicate findings to supervisors or management. Follow established repair procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. Assist with field service or emergency repairs when needed. Properly handle, store, and dispose of oils, solvents, chemicals, and other shop materials. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Mechanical experience in an industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, pump, or rotating-equipment environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and understand equipment specifications. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment. Ability to lift, move, and work around heavy industrial equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
