Job Description
Job description Giro Pack, Inc. is seeking a reliable Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to ensure the optimal functioning of all equipment and machines at our Vidalia, GA. facility. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic's responsibilities include the inspection, maintaining and repairing of industrial equipment and machinery in a safe & timely manner. Applicants must be well-rounded individuals who can perform efficient work on a variety of equipment, executing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance. Initial training will be conducted during day shift, however once completed the candidate will be placed on 2nd (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm) or 3rd shift (10:00 pm - 6:00 am). The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic plays an integral part in supporting Giro Pack, Inc. in the manufacturing and distribution of packaging for the fruit and vegetable sector. Industrial Maintenance Mechanic job duties include: Adjust and calibrate machinery and equipment Clean and lubricate machinery or equipment Detect minor problems by performing basic diagnostic tests Disassemble equipment and machinery when there is a problem Move equipment and machinery Perform tests to make sure that machines are running smoothly Read technical manuals to understand controls and equipment Repair or replace malfunctioning or broken components Test malfunctioning machinery to determine the need for major repairs Assess the condition of used parts using micrometers, calipers and specifications Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations Requirements and skills: Minimum two years industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience required Must hold a certificate or diploma in a related field Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment In-depth knowledge of system maintenance Ability to lift and move heavy equipment Communication and teamwork skills Familiarity with safety standards and regulations Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance on a regular basis Self motivated, responsible and safety oriented individual Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical and electrical prints Must have a flexible schedule
