Updated 08/28/2026 Job Description Job Summary Arconic is offering a $5000 Signing Bonus! A General Mechanic performs the following job duties: Perform maintenance on hot/cold rolling mills, finishing equipment, and related machinery. Maintain and repair plant facilities and systems. Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Knowledge of power transmission components Welding and oxy/acetylene equipment operation Operate mobile equipment such as fork truck, flat beds, cranes, etc. Adjust, repair, lubricate and maintain plant equipment. Limited computer skills to order parts and input time, etc. Pipefitting Read, understand, and use blueprints. This position works 12-hour shifts, 6 am to 6 pm or 6 pm to 6 am. Shifts are assigned by Seniority. Employee must be able to perform essential job functions of this department.- High school diploma or GED required.
- Candidate must meet journey-level qualifications and possess a minimum of 3 years of solid industrial maintenance experience as a Millwright, Pipefitter, or Welder (or have equivalent experience of 5 years of verifiable work as a general Mechanic)
- Pass journey-level testing requirements.
