The Industrial Laundry Mechanic 2 serves as a senior technical expert responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of industrial laundry equipment in Central Laundry operations. Lead safety and reliability initiatives, mentor junior technicians, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance machinery performance and service continuity across the organization. What You Can Expect Tuesday - Saturday 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Diagnose and resolve escalated mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and steam system issues. Propose and implement innovative solutions to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency. Interpret and execute manufacturers' maintenance protocols, while adapting procedures for extended equipment lifespan. Ensure alignment with safety standards, including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and thermal safety procedures. Champion safety awareness across the team. Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for high-risk maintenance tasks. Provide structured training and performance guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 mechanics. Develop training materials and facilitate hands-on instruction to build team capability and consistency. Maintain comprehensive maintenance logs, analyze repair data for trends, and report findings to operations leadership to inform capital improvement decisions. Partner with engineers, vendors, and operations teams to support project execution, upgrades, and acquisition of new equipment. Participate in Kaizen events and process improvement projects focused on enhancing laundry system throughput, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Ensure proper care, calibration, and inventory tracking of mechanical tools and technical equipment used in laundry operations. Support special projects and evolving responsibilities consistent with growth of the Central Laundry program.
