Job Description

Overview Are you a rising Junior or Senior Industrial or Mechanical Engineering student looking for a "hands-on" summer work experience? This position might be for you! The Summer Engineering Intern will work with the engineering team to help design and test electronic hardware and software for transportation power systems. They will work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assist in the development of products and systems for a wide range of applications. Based in our Salina, KS location, the internship will begin in May 2027 and end in August 2027, and will work 40 hours a week. This is a paid opportunity, but housing is not provided, so you must have both housing and transportation. Check out our interns from prior summers!

//jobs.stryten.com/early-careers Responsibilities + Help design and test electronics for new products and sustain existing products + Collaborate with the electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams + Design and build test fixtures, harnesses, and test software + Create test plans and procedures to support production test system development + Conduct experimental tests, analyze test data, and write test reports + Assist production and QA teams with putting new designs into production Qualifications We are looking for students: + Graduating between December 2027 and May 2027 + Working towards a BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering + With a GPA > 3.0 + You must have housing and transportation + The position requires working on-site daily During your internship, you may be exposed to the following areas: + Experience with high voltage and high power electronics + Analytical problem-solving skills + Assemble prototypes + Experience working with product and engineering technical specifications and product performance test procedures or plans + Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team + Organization and documentation skills Work Environment (include physical requirements) + Office work environment, occasional manufacturing environment + May have to lift and move up to 50 pounds + Some travel may be required between Stryten facilities and third-party contract manufacturing Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future.
