Job Description

SCOPE:
Assemble gearboxes and component parts for refurbishment and assembly.SPECIAL SKILLS/ Requirements:
- Operate overhead crane and forklift.
- Use hand held power, hand held precision measuring and manual tools.
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble gearboxes/products. Good written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of mechanical components/assemblies to suggest improvements.
- Ability to work accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner, while maintaining safety as a priority.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.
- Ability to lift and/or push 25 pounds, stand, bend, and squat with repetitive movements for 8 hours.
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
- Work overtime on an as needed basis.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma orGED. 3-5
years of mechanical assembly experience, gearbox preferred.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in a team environment to accomplish goals.
- Utilize hand held precision measuring tools such as micrometers and depth mics.
- Perform quality work inspections to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area per 5S practices.
