Job Description Job Summary The City of Aberdeen is seeking an experienced Water and Wastewater Plant Mechanic with intermediate experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of water and wastewater plant equipment, including pumps, pipes, and valves. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of mechanical principles and be able to troubleshoot and repair complex systems. Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installation of water and wastewater plant equipment, including pumps, pipes, valves, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. Responsible for logging all repairs and maintaining accurate records Assist with plant operations as directed. Monitor and inspect equipment to ensure proper operation and safety. Troubleshoot and repair complex systems, including electrical and mechanical components. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete tasks. Follow safety procedures and use safety equipment when necessary. Follow established policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Available to work a rotating On Call schedule. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years of experience working with water and wastewater plant equipment or a maintenance-related field. Intermediate level of knowledge of mechanical principles. Basic computer skills. Obtain federal security clearance Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems. Knowledge of safety procedures and use of safety equipment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
