Mechanic - Senior Mechanic

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an experienced Mechanic at our Prince George's County Organics Composting Facility in Upper Marlboro, MD. This position performs installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment used for a variety of environmental projects.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications for all position levels require graduation from a standard high school or possession of GED equivalency certificate. All must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. All must be able to lift 50 pounds. All must have the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Formal schooling from an accredited vocational school with a major in related field of study may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to three (3) years of the required experience.

Mechanic:

requires three (3) years of experience performing installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment

Senior Mechanic:

requires five (5) years of experience performing installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment Appointment to some sites may require Commercial Driver's License with specific endorsements. This position will be open until filled. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.
